Onboarding Teachers in Classcraft
Representation:
Classcraft wanted to convert more teachers who visited the website. We recruited teachers who signed up for the website but never used the free trial.
Methodology:
With Unity, we created a simple version of Classcraft for teachers to use in their classrooms, and we videotaped their experiences. We were able to naturally observe the challenges teachers had in introducing the tool to a new classroom.
Iteration:
We created three different versions of the new Classcraft until the software became much easier for the teachers to understand and students to adopt.
Outcome:
Teachers now have a new onboarding experience at Classcraft.com, where they can get started with their classrooms without having to set up accounts or use more complicated behavioral management tools. We detailed some of the key changes in this article: 3 Pillars of Teacher Adoption for Edtech
